Support Staff Position
Title: Paraprofessional
Qualifications: 60 college credit hours or substitute certificate and good human relations skills
Reports to: Director of Special Services, Principal, and Teacher
Job Goal: To assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in special education.
PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
1. Assists teacher in maintaining classroom organization, managing students, preparing teaching materials, reinforcing previously taught concepts as prescribed by the teacher, implementing policies, rules, and/or regulations.
2. Adheres to district policies and departmental, building, and classroom procedures.
3. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students.
4. Maintains confidentiality of information about students.
5. Performs clerical responsibilities as assigned by teacher.
6. Assists assigned student and/or classroom as designated.
7. Works assigned hours and in assigned buildings as determined by needs of the district.
8. Physically be able to lift 30 lbs.
9. Other duties, not specifically mentioned above, may be assigned by teacher, Director of Special Services, or Building Principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by Board Policy
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy
